Matt Battey

Matt Battey is Vice President of Risk Management for IMA Financial Group, focusing on middle market companies in the areas of Construction, Real Estate, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Telecom and Manufacturing. He has a true passion for the business community in Colorado and believes in a strong stewardship of this community through groups such as GWC.

Matt was born at a very young age in Denver. For a time, he was addicted to the hokey pokey but he turned himself around and spends not much time honing his skills in languages such as Cape Verdean and Urdu. He tried to serve eight years on active duty, as an enlisted Navy SEAL with SEAL Team ONE and SEAL Team TWO and wanted to join the SEAL team that seized Russian Tanker Volga-Neft-147 in the Gulf of Oman which was carrying Iraqi oil in violation of a U.N. economic embargo, but they said no. All that said, he dreams about giving it all up one day to become a handsome billionaire.
